Here is the latest...This one was for an Art Challenge at work. I hurried somewhat to finish it, so its a bit messy in spots. I still like it though. Hope you like it as well.
Here is the latest. This one has a bit of a 50s monster movie feel to it. Im a big fan of monster movies and as Halloween approaches I will be doing more monster art. This one took a bit longer than some of the previous posts.....about 12 hours.
A friend of mine at work does these cool whimsical pirates with a ton of character. It inspired me to try going a little "overboard" (oh man I kill myself) and push the envelope a bit on this guy. Im also trying to be more loose and exaggerated and do the rough sketch right in painter instead of sketching first and then scanning it in for coloring. 3 hours
Here is the latest. I keep learning new things about Painter from the people i work with. I have a blast just sitting down and painting for a couple hours knowing I can get up anytime and not worry about the paint drying or cleaning up a big mess of brushes and stuff. Anyway this one took about 4 hours.
Well its been a while since i have posted anything. But hopefully I can make up for it over the next couple of days. This is a speed painting I did in about 45 minutes. I just went from my head which is why the colors are not very natural. But I like the values overall. I really need to spend some time working on environments and landscapes. I also need to try using some reference.
Another Painter sketch I did a couple of days ago. This one took about 4 hours. I pushed this one a bit farther than most. Im still pretty new to Painter (I started with it about 2 months ago), but I really like the fact that I can paint without having to clean up afterward.
I try to do a sketch in Painter every day. I dont always get to it, but I try to. most of these will be pretty rough. Mostly just practicing with color, light, and mood.
I hope to post as many of these as I can......as I complete them.
These are images of the sculpt im doing for my halloween mask this year. Im using WED clay. Its a water based clay with glycerin. I dig this stuff because its so easy to work
Well, as a result of intense peer pressure ive decided to give this blog thing a try. I plan on posting some of my artwork as well as my hilarious adventures in motorcycle building. stay tuned and enjoy!
